Holiday Roundup

Um, did the time between November and December just seem to go by in the blink of an eye?

Here is a roundup of what I’ve been up to on the Internet during this crazy holiday time!

I wrote about how I am grateful for my children and how they are helping me grow into the person I’ve always wanted to be.

At Detroit New MichMoms, I wrote about how food is a chance to show our love and validate the individuality of our loved ones.  This is the reason why coconut cream pie and chocolate chip cookies along with a gluten-free treat are all traditional desserts at our Thanksgiving table.

Since I found a fabulous gluten-free dessert along with some great tips for photographing food on Pinterest, I decided to do a Best of Pinterest: Thanksgiving Edition post.

I took a break from writing about holiday happenenings when my son’s teacher took me aside to discuss his behavior in class.  Being a former teacher, I was horrified yet totally and completely motivated to deal with this issue.  (Maybe a little too motivated, some would say due to my traffic light behavior chart

At Detroit News MichMoms, I wrote about how balancing the daily tasks of motherhood along with my Christmas elf duties is overwhelming, but that this is the year that I am reclaiming my joy for my favorite time of year.

And because I cannot write enough about the Christmas season, I wrote about how I am equal parts of Buddy the Elf, Clark Griswold, and Maria Bamford’s character from the Target commercials.  Sometimes a photo (or a video clip) is worth a 1.000 words, therefore I decided to use mostly YouTube clips to communicate my vision.

I hope that you are having a great holiday season!

Throughout the craziness of the season, it's really about my family. (Daily reminder to self).

One of my favorite photos taken this year. It reminds me that all of this holiday craziness could be so simple if I just remind myself it’s about feeling connected to the ones I love.
